Hanoi, December 20 (Engineering Daily) -- Chau Doc the second largest trade and tourism center in the Mekong Delta province of An Giang has attracted interest of local and foreign investors to develop its region to prominence.
Chau Doc has been famous for being a good tourism place. It has accommodated on average 4.5 million visitors every year to the high spiritual sites/ceremony such as Ba Chua Xu Temple, Tay An Pagoda, and local goddess Ba Chua Xu.
Chau Doc is a resourceful place in that it borders with Cambodia and accommodates both national and international border crossings that are convenient for road and waterway transport.
The construction of the city's 14 main roads and central waste-water treatment system and the Chau Doc~Nui Sam backbone road is completed. In addition, the city is about to commence the construction of Chau Doc Bridge.
Furthermore, building a detour connecting Nui Sam Park, Bac Mieu Ba Resort, the South Song Hau and South Cu Tri residential blocks, and connecting a road between Vinh Dong market residential block to National Highway 91's bypass are approved and waiting for investors to invest in.
The prime minister has approved the master plan on the development of the national-level Nui Sam Resort in An Giang by 2025 with a vision towards 2030. In order to enable the resort to earn its national-level status, Chau Doc has been proactive in calling for investment into major tourism infrastructure projects serving the resort.
However, for now the Chau Doc administration is set to turn tourism into a spearhead sector.
